Meatballs and sauce here, meatballs and sauce, there. Meatballs and sauce, everywhere!
Last night Bridget & Flanagan had meatballs and sauce with tiny shells. They liked it. Although, I don't think they liked it enough to want to roll around in it! But that is just what they did.
Lemme explain. The meatballs and sauce were in a container on the kitchen counter. Said container is missing it's cover, so it was covered with tin foil. After cooling down I wanted to put the meatballs and sauce in the fridge. Sounds easy, eh?
Well, the container is long and shallow and it's always a bit of a chore banging the the U-ey from counter to fridge. Try doin' it with 2 frisky devil dogs under foot!
Oh! What a mess! A red, greasy mess! And Bridget was covered in it. Yup, she was right in the meatball river's path. 'Course, Flanagan didn't help matters when he saw this as a grand opportunity to have seconds! Dove right in, he did! Belly first! Flanagan WAS the fluffy, cream colored Chow. The more I tried to get them out of the River of meatballs and sauce the more the river spread!
To top it off, yesterday I gave the pups their first dose of K9 Advantix. You are supposed to wait a week before bathing them. UGH! Not to mention, this was NOT how I had envisioned their first bath! Where, oh where, is that digital camera when you, most, need it! LOL!
Bridget was first to go into the kitchen sink. Dogs hate getting a bath. Dogs are squirmy while getting a bath. Dogs constantly try and shake off the water while getting a bath. Humans end up taking a bath. Mommy is now wearing the River of meatballs and sauce!
River of meatballs and sauce is now all over my kitchen curtains. Talk about needing a third hand! Don't forget, I'm trying not to get water on Bridget's back. That's where I applied the K9 Advantix.
Small silver lining. Ok, so it's a teensy, tiny silver lining. Bridget only got hit with the meatball Tsunami on one side of her and Flanagan, God bless his little, devil heart, merely SWAM in it. Dogpaddlin' all the way! And Flanny was ever so helpful, trying his darnedest to cop thirds, hungrily trying to lick Bridget dry. Hey, who says ya gotta eat dinner out of a bowl?
Boo hoo! Bridget and Flanagan have garlic breath! Foodie dogs, indeed! Sheese!
Later,
Bridget & Flanagan's Mommy
