Day 3... only 4 new pics. Bridget & Flanagan had a ball playing in the yard today.
And they/we are making progress... Bridget whined and shook her little bum to let me know she needed to go out! Yeah! She went straight down the stairs and took a tinkle... to much high praise from Mommy! Flanagan wasn't far behind, and in the spirit of competition that seems to be the main motivation, promptly took a nice little dump.. all the while looking at Mommy and, breathlessly, awaiting the same high praise that Bridget received!
This was fantastic progress... they didn't have a single "accident" all day... well, at least when my day started with them.
Oh yes.. for Daddy they had a different sort of wake up call. Yuppers! I've told you that at least when they do go in the house, they always go in the same place...this is not a terribly bad thing... except that the place they chose is directly outside of the closed bedroom door.. which, considering that they might, yet, choose a favored spot in said bedroom, is off limits to them. Which is ok... except that in the, now, usual MO (modus operandi) the bedroom (did I mention it is not just Daddy's bedroom,, it's Mommy's, too) is, apparently, off limits to Mommy. Cuz these 2 little darlin's who normally sleep straight through the night while Mommy is very nearby on the couch, have a total, freakin' yap fest, a very loud, yap fest, if Mommy even thinks about sleeping in her own bedroom and in her very own bed!
Anyhow... Daddy tries to , quietly, sneak out of HIS, (again, it used to be OUR bedroom) bedroom without waking the pups or the Mommy who is sleeping on the couch. Sounds like a good plan... and it would have been had he not, immediately and simultaineously, stepped in and slid in, oh... about four neat little piles of gushy, slippery shit!
Well, you can only imagine what happened next, right?
Well, you'd only be, maybe, 1/2 right.
Here is the real time scenerio...
Daddy opens door, making sure to be quiet.. Daddy steps in shit... Daddy slips and slides....Daddy is definately not quiet at this point.. Daddy is using bad swear words that Mommy doesn't think should be used in front of youngin's, but of course, Mommy being a smart chicky doesn't say this.. if she did Daddy would know she was awake and use same swear words and maybe new swear words at Mommy. Tee Hee. Bridget & Flanagan think this is a delightful way to start the day and rush Daddy, jumping all over Daddy's bare legs, at first scratching Daddy from knees to ankles and then the second wave of jumping on Daddy's legs wasn't nearly as painful.. Oh, no... now those sharp little nails were lubricated in the same little piles of shit that Bridget & Flanagan had, also, slipped and slided in! lOL!
And what did Mommy do while all this, impossible to not hear, including many more swear words, commotion went on?
Whaddaya think... Mommy is a smart Mommy... and Mommy stepped up her usual light snoring to a full blown heavy, as in locomotive comin' down the tracks, heavy, snoring!
Daddy reluctantly cleaned up the mess, all the while using swear words, under his breath, now directed at Mommy! Drat... lol
Like I already told you, these pups are smart, very smart. So, they took their cue from their much loved and smart Mommy and played possum... they even managed to fake a locomotive strength fake snore!
Well, another day and I hoped you enjoyed hearing about it. During the rest of the day they had one of their many, many "tussles". Just so you don't think that Bridget is a pushover or that Flanagan is the bully...see attached "tusslin' match" pics. Also, see their newest favorite thing.... the Doggie cookie jar. It's almost the same size as them. I love it.. it was Neil's Late fathers gift to Neil's late mother when Neil was just a child and many a loved dogs loved it, too! We are both thrilled to be passing on this doggie love to our new babies! More to come, I'm sure. With a bit of luck they won't ALL be so eventful!
Later,
Eileen, Neil and Bridget & Flanagan
